  1. The Bored? Game! Crew took in the UK Games Expo this week...suffice to say we had a lot of fun.

Thursday saw the Esdevium Retailer Summit, where some of the big names in the gaming industry talked us through what we can expect over the coming year regards releases and new products, and also some of the many plans for the future. We are very excited to say the least for, Archer Love Letter, Ticket to Ride: Rails & Sails, and the next wave of X-Wing Miniatures. Also SJG annouced their original Car Wars game is being re-developed, this was awesome news to hear.

Friday we hit the Expo show, and now it has been moved into the NEC halls, it was so much better regards space. No more rabbit warren corridors of the hotel, and pushing past the many people that attend. A big 10/10 from us on this move.

Whilst we were there, we got to try out the game, Exoplanets. This resource management game see's you trying to evolve life on many planets that are orbiting a sun. Quite a quick game to pick up, and a lot of fun!

Also, we had a run down on the Devils Run RPG, based on the recently released board game, that is currently in the process of being developed. This see's you in a post apocalyptic world, where road gangs rule the highways. The game mechanic seems pretty good, but it's in early beta production, so this can only get better with time.

The highlight of the day for Matt, was getting to meet and chat with the writers of the 7th Edition, Call of Cthulhu RPG books. He is a big H.P Lovecraft fan, and is the Keeper on many CoC games run at Bored? Game! HQ. Our 7th Edition rulebooks should be hitting the shelves later this month, we will keep you posted on developments, if you do wish to pre-order a copy, then please do so here.

Update on Chaosium's Organised Play, 'A Time to Harvest'...

The campaign officially kicks off on Saturday April 16th, 2016, to coincide with the release of the physical copies of Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition,  Although Bored? Game! Keepers will not begin to run the campaign until sometime in May (when we have had chance to read it through and have the new rulebook in our hands).

Each episode will follow on sequentially towards the OP campaign's climax. It is a linear progression, although within each episode, the investigators usually have a range of things/routes to take - some episodes being more sandbox than others in this fashion. Frequency of play will run one episode per month (either weekly, fortnightly, or monthly), but obviously some groups may take longer or shorter.

The campaign will accomodate 4 to 6 players max per group and there is no cost or entry fee at all to take part, just bring your pencil, eraser and sense of adventure...not to mention a strong sanity threshold!

The venue where the campaign will take place will be arranged nearer the time, and players will have to be over 18 to take part.

Remember to contact us for more information or to sign up, just message us via our Contact Page or Facebook.

Bored? Game! has teamed up with Chaosium's 'Cult of Chaos' Organised Play campaign 'A Time to Harvest'. It's early days yet, and we are awaiting further details on how the campaign will work, but if anyone is interested in joining this roleplaying adventure, then please get in touch via our Contact Page or Facebook to register your curiosity into the unspeakable horrors that will no doubt await you!

What we do know, is that, “It’s a tightly focused campaign, set in Lovecraft Country, which is inspired by and builds on H. P. Lovecraft's tales", said Mike Mason, line editor for Call of Cthulhu.

Written by established Call of Cthulhu authors Brian Sammons, Charles P Zaglanis, Glynn Owen Barrass and Mike Mason, A Time to Harvest is an an ideal campaign for novice Keepers and players alike, with plenty of advice throughout, but veteran players will also find it engaging and fun too.

"Things are not always what they seem and the players will have to navigate the various twists and turns. It’s also pretty fast paced, with plenty of action putting the investigators into dangerous situations. Whether around the learned halls of Miskatonic University, the streets of Arkham, or the wilds of Vermont, the players will have plenty of opportunities to explore, investigate, and face threats not of this world!”, said Mason.

So, watch this space for more information, and remember, submit your interest ASAP to avoid disspointment!
